Large Stone Crab Claws

It is stone crab claw season! The crab we're offering is trap-caught off the west coast of Florida where it is harvested and cooked the same day as it is caught. The crab industry is highly regulated, and stone crab is among the most sustainable seafoods available. Crabbers are careful to avoid egg-bearing females in harvesting.

Stone crab claw meat is pure white, moist, and tasty. We think it's best served chilled with a good dipping sauce. It can also be sautéed (say, in butter) for a few minutes, but it is already cooked so no further cooking is needed. Seafood Watch rates it a "Best Choice."

Approximately 3 to 5 large-sized claws per pound.
