Yes, perch! We don't like them, we love them! We've tried for well over a year to find affordable perch, but for the past few years they have been scarce. There are several reasons for this. One factor, according to some, is warming waters brought on by climate change. But also the burgeoning walleye population is eating them. With all of this happening, catch limits have been put on the perch fishery. The shortages are real, and sadly we won't be able to feature perch as often as we'd like to.

This batch is wild-caught from Lake Erie Canada-side. Preparation for perch is simple. Their small size makes them a natural for pan-frying, but you can also cook them in the oven.

Yellow perch is flaky with firm flesh and mild flavor. A Seafood Watch "Best Choice.” Kosher. Low mercury level.
